CODE RED UPDATE!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, everyone!  It has been WAAAAAAY too long since I’ve posted anything or updated you on what’s going on.  I’ve received numerous emails from a lot of you wanting to know if I fell off the face of the earth and what’s going on with “In Your Face” Fitness.  I’ve certainly missed my regular correspondence with you.

First let me get this out of the way:  No, I did not get married in November.  Chad and I had our wedding scheduled for November 21st but turned out that we were both globe trotting on and around that date so we’ve postponed it until June.  I was in New York for October and part of November, then I was in Seattle directly following.  Chad spent almost a week in Nashville last month for a teaching conference and we’ve both been back and forth to see our parents 2 hours away in both directions.  It was just too much to fit in around a November wedding.

I moved to Boise in October and have been settling in since then.  There is so much to do to integrate our lives that I’m amazed to see that my “to-do” list stays full day in and day out.  I’m getting to know this city and learning the lay out.  Also, because of the traveling I’ve been doing, it has just been wreaking havoc on my ability to “settle down.”  It helped tremendously that we found a gym that we really, really love right around the corner.  I hit the treadmill or a spin class early mornings and Chad and I go again in the afternoons to lift weights together.  I feel great and I’m please with my body fat %.  Of course, like most of you, I’m constantly striving for better strength and conditioning and always looking towards my next fitness goal.  Chad is good to bounce fitness ideas off of and he’s very good to keep me in balance.   Sometimes things get out of perspective so we’re good for each other that way.

“In Your Face” Fitness came to a screeching halt during a filming of a video 2 months ago when my camera suddenly broke.  It was beyond repair so I saved my money and bought a BEAUTIFUL Canon.  Okay.  Back in business, right?  Wrong.  Upon tempting to upload the new video to my MAC (like I’ve done for the past 50 vids) by Mac crashed and shut down.  Come to find out, my beloved Mac is too old now to handle the new camera and can’t even handle updated software.  My mac is 6 years old so I’m retiring my old friend and investing in a new one next month.  In the meantime, we are filming some new videos next week and will post them using my mom’s MAC.  I have a TON of new ideas for you and I’m chomping at the bit to post them!  Code Red is entering a new era of fitness and you’re not going to wanna miss it.

Speaking of, you’re probably wondering where I’m working.  I’ve been fortunate to land a dream job teaching fitness classes for 3 Gold’s gyms in Boise.  I am now a Certified Spinning Instructor and teaching spin is so much fun.  Also, Gold Gyms has allowed me to create my own program, which will launch first of the year and will center around “BOXING” condition.  I will teach athletes how to train like a fighter and be in SICK shape like a professional fighter.  This city has not seen anything close to this type of training or CODE RED, for that matter, and I will be taking this city by storm.  I’m excited and Boise should be excited, too.  I will announce the launch party date soon so stay tuned for that.

Christmas is in full swing at our household.  Looks like Santa puked in our apartment so we’re really loving it!  LOL!  We’ll be sharing the holidays amongst all our family members so we’ll be traveling around Idaho quite a bit.  Chad has 2 weeks off from school.  He’ll be upset at me for bragging, but he was voted “coolest teacher in school” by the entire student body for 2009-2010.  The kids absolutely love him and the faculty and staff couldn’t be happier with his performance.  I only wish I would’ve had a teacher like him in high school.  I might have gone even further in my life.  His connection with the kids is indescribable and he’s constantly getting emails from former students who have pushed through tough times and accomplished goals because of his influence and guidance.  I couldn’t be more proud.

I have enrolled at Boise State University and will be getting my RN/BSN.  This is the most stable choice for this shaky economy and it is my top priority.  I’m excited about school and anxious to start.

That should do it, folks.  Keep your eyes peeled next week for a new video with the new CODE RED.   Again, happy holidays and I love you all.

FAMILY UPDATE:

PS:  Also, I would like to express my excitement and anticipation for my new nieces arrival in March.  My sister, Cari, is 6 months pregnant and doing WONDERFUL.  She’s my hero as she works full time as an ICU nurse and takes care of her 2 other kids and husband.  She’s truly an inspiration and I’d put her up against anyone in a contest of the “hardest worker.”  My other sister, Laura, continues to excel as a Dental assistant in one of the top producing dental firms in the country.  She cares for her 11 year old daughter, as a single parent, and maintains a healthy, loving home.  My parents continue to pastor Mountain Life Church in McCall.  Dad is still the hospital Chaplain, director of Hospice, and director of AFTIN (among so many other obligations).  He is an expert in the field of crisis, death and dying and many people’s lives are touched by his loving, Christ-like understand of this process.  I am thankful his hunting efforts paid off this fall because our freezer is FULL of venison and elk!  Thanks dad!  I am very, very, very pleased to announce my mom’s complete and total body reformation, although she might correct me and say it’s an “attitude change.”  She has maintained a regular workout schedule for the past few months and it shows!  Mom is healthier and happier than I’ve ever seen her and I couldn’t be more proud.  She continues to put in many hours at the church managing the children’s programs and assisting the pastor.  Mom is the woman I strive to be every day of my life.
